The other night when I was sitting in my dark and dreadful chamber, only lightened by a solitary candle, the old question of hell intrigued me again, as it has so often during these times: Is hell exothermic or endothermic? Most people point to Boyles Law when this question is mentioned; e.g. gas is chilled as it expands and becomes hotter when the space becomes smaller. However, simple as this may sound, it doesn’t explain what happens if the size of hell is changing. And we must assume that the size changes if we consider all souls that must arrive daily. I believe, as is the common understanding, that when a soul has entered hell, he will not be going away. Hence, no souls ever leave hell.

When it concerns the amount of souls who arrive to hell we need to look at the world’s religions, a vast majority of these religions tells you that you will go to hell if you don’t follow that particular religion. Because there are more than one religion that has this message, and because most people are not disciples of more than one religion at the same time, we can safely assume that all people are going to hell. Additionally, with the birth-rates we have today, the amount of people in hell will increase dramatically in the next decades.
Now, we have to calculate with changes in the size of hell as Boyles Law tells us that in order for temperature and pressure to be held at a constant level, the size of hell must expand as new souls arrive.

This gives us two possibilities:

1. If hell expands with a lower speed than with the speed of arrivals of new souls, pressure and temperature will increase until all hell breaks loose.
2. If hell, on the other hand, expands with a higher speed than the arrival of new souls, pressure and temperature will decrease until hell freezes over.
So, are there any thermo biologists or other knowledgeable people (perhaps someone has visited hell and been thrown out?) who might be able to shed light over this?

Hell
Have anyone got any informations whether hell is a very warm kind of large vault-like structure? Or is it a lake that burns of fire and sulphur?

Hell
Does it really matter? I'm sure we will all find out in the end if we deserve it...

Hell
I have not seen hell for a long time now. But it strikes me as neither expanding nor being constant. Rather it's a never ending circle.

Hell?
I don't really believe in hell and heaven...in fact I don't think you need to pay for your sins after life.

I got that email and I went
I got that email and I went and it was pretty dreadful to say the least! And by the way its endothermic. yes that is a fact. I recommend heaven over hell personally but that's just my opinion.

Don't go to hell!
Listen up people! If you receive an email telling you to go to hell; don't do it! It's a fake-mail! Down there it's freakin' hot and everyone are angry and cheaky bastards!

expansion?
If hell doesn't expand... will that mean that it will eventually collapse and everyone in it will roam the streets? Perhaps even feed on the living?

Hell
Wouldn't it be quite logical that hell expands since the large influx of hell-bound souls must surely have been estimated at the point of creation?

Hell?
I'm troubled by your views. Don't you think at least some people might be going to Heaven? Well, when hell either freezes over or collapses those unfortunate souls may have a second chance nonetheless.

Going to Hell
I believe that I might be going to hell, I have a few sins on my conscience (some of them are of embarassing and indecent nature) so I believe that if I only find I way, I'll be able to communicate a rsponse to your query. It is also likely that I will go soon, since many of my ex-wives repeatedly try tries to kill me.
